Arizona Building Contractors is a licensed general contractor specializing in garages, ADUs, additions, residential remodels, and commercial tenant improvements across Tucson.
Arizona Building Contractors was founded in 2007 on a simple principle: do the work right, treat people fairly, and stand behind what you build.
That philosophy is grounded in real hands-on construction experience and continues to guide how we approach every project today. From early planning through final completion, we focus on clear expectations, quality execution, and professional oversight – because lasting results don’t happen by accident.
Dan began his career in the construction industry in 1998 as an apprenticed electrician with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 640. Over the next several years, he worked throughout Arizona — including Phoenix, Tucson, and surrounding regions — gaining hands-on experience in the field and developing a strong respect for craftsmanship, safety, and doing things the right way.
After years in the field, Dan transitioned into acquiring, remodeling, and reselling residential properties in the Tucson area. Managing projects from early planning through completion laid the foundation for what would become Arizona Building Contractors.
Since 2007, the company has completed hundreds of residential and light commercial projects across the Tucson metropolitan area, including remodels, garages, ADUs, additions, and tenant improvements.
“My family and I have built our life here in Tucson, and this company grew out of that. It would be an honor to help you build something lasting for your family as well.”
– Dan Gullick
What Guides Every Project We Take On!
At Arizona Building Contractors, our work is guided by a set of core values that shape how we communicate, how we build, and how we show up for our clients and each other. These values are not aspirational slogans; they are standards we hold ourselves to on every project.
We listen carefully, observe closely, and stay engaged throughout every phase of a project. From the first conversation to final completion, we pay attention to details, questions, and concerns so nothing important is overlooked.
We take responsibility for our work, our decisions, and our commitments. When we say we will do something, we follow through; and when challenges arise, we address them directly and transparently.
Clear, honest, and timely communication is essential to successful projects. We believe problems are solved faster and expectations are met when everyone stays informed and aligned.
We take pride in how things are built, not just that they are built. Our team values precision, durability, and thoughtful execution in every detail, whether visible or behind the walls.
We do the right thing, even when it’s inconvenient or unseen. Integrity guides how we price work, manage projects, treat clients, and work with our partners and trade professionals.
Great projects are the result of collaboration. We work closely with clients, designers, inspectors, subcontractors, and each other to achieve shared goals and successful outcomes.
Our reputation is built on the quality of our finished work. We hold ourselves to high standards in materials, installation, and execution, because lasting results matter.
The people behind every project bring skill, experience, and personality to their work, and take pride in seeing every client’s vision come to life.
Murray begins his day with a hot cup of Café Justo coffee and heads into each project ready to tackle whatever the day brings. Known for his all-in approach, there’s no detail he overlooks—every part of a project matters. He believes in building things the right way from the start, with craftsmanship and care. His favorite phase is the tipping point in construction—the moment when the vision shifts from lines on paper to something real you can stand inside. The most rewarding part is seeing what he helped create come to life. Outside of work, he’s built a custom Jeep for rock crawling and has backpacked through Europe—always ready for the next adventure.
Fueled by a Dr. Pepper and a protein shake, Abe starts each day with a clear plan and a focus on the details. As an estimator, he believes doing things right means addressing every detail of an estimate accurately. His favorite phase of a project is the electrical work, and the most rewarding part is knowing his work has made a lasting impact on the quality of someone’s daily life. Outside of work, Abe enjoys computers, electronic gadgets, and all things automotive. When it comes to Tucson restaurants, though, he says it’s impossible to pick just one.
Fueled by a Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Brew, because coffee shouldn’t taste too much like coffee, Bethany believes every great project starts with understanding the client’s needs. To her, doing things right means setting ego aside and delivering work that is honest, thoughtful, and exceeds expectations. As a designer, the finishes are her favorite part of any project, where every detail helps bring a client’s personality to life. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, trail running, exploring Tucson’s wilderness, and trying just about everything on the menu at El Sur.
Liz starts her day with Dunkin’ coffee brewed at home and brings a steady, focused approach to her work. Preparing payroll accurately is a responsibility she takes seriously, and she firmly believes in doing things with no shortcuts. Her computer is her command center, keeping everything organized and running smoothly. She finds real satisfaction in receiving final payment and auditing a job to ensure everything is wrapped up correctly. Outside of work, she enjoys cross stitch and jigsaw puzzles, and when she does dine out, Texas Roadhouse is her go-to.
Fueled by hot chocolate, Emma brings a detail-oriented mindset to every project. She believes that doing it right the first time saves time, stress, and rework later, so she carefully reviews documents before they ever reach a client. Her electronic to-do list and trusty paper planner keep everything on track. The final walkthrough is her favorite phase. There’s nothing better than seeing drawings and renderings come to life and watching a client’s vision become reality. Outside of work, you’ll find her baking, behind a camera, hiking, practicing yoga, or enjoying enchiladas at one of Tucson’s many Mexican restaurants.
We’ve built our company on hard work and doing things the right way. If you’re ready to contribute to something meaningful, we’d love to hear from you.

We would most definitely give Arizona Building Contractors a five-star rating and without hesitation recommend them. The garage and electrical improvement project they completed for us turned out beautifully. They far exceeded our expectations. Their workmanship, performance and professionalism exhibited the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship. Dan did a great job of listening to what we wanted done and did indeed bring that vision to life. Emma provided excellent office support and backup. JonErik and his crew were polite and hardworking. They explained why they were doing what they did and answered any questions we had. At end of day, they left the area spotless. They were a pleasure to employ. We will most definitely utilize their services on any projects we have in the future!Posted on Google![]()

After working with 4 other contractors in the process of remodeling our home, we were so happy to have found Arizona Building Contractors and wish we had found them earlier. They were amazing to work with. Everything was explained, from the permitting process to construction needs to finalizing the project. They were friendly, professional, and without being "pushy," helped us to understand the long-term consequences of some of the decisions. A few unexpected situations came up but they were dealt with quickly, with minimum disturbance for us or the completion date. Without hesitation, we would recommend them for any project you may be considering.Posted on Google![]()

Built our additions on our home. The company goes above and beyond to do an awesome job. Since, Dan and his company did such an awesome job for us before, we decided to hire him again. This time it was for a disability bathroom renovation. The onyx that was used turned out stunningly beautiful.
Let’s discuss your next project and bring your vision to life.
